Fast control of fleas.
One of the most difficult problems in flea control is quick knockdown and kill of adult fleas. Demize E.C. applied directly to adult fleas provides a 100% knockdown in 15 minutes. This can prevent call backs which may be associated with slower acting insecticides.
How does Demize E.C. control fleas?
Linalool, the active ingredient in Demize E.C., kills fleas both as a contact insecticide and also by vapor action while the carpet is damp. The vapor action increases carpet penetration and also penetrates the egg capsule and pupal case. Linalool acts on the peripheral nervous system of the flea, but does not inhibit cholinesterase.
How long will Demize E.C. control fleas?
After the carpet dries there is no pesticide residual left on the carpet. This can be very important to customers who are concerned about pesticide residues.
How is Demize E.C. used?
It is diluted either 2 or 3 ounces per gallon of water and applied at a rate of 1 gallon per 1000 square feet.
Demize E.C. may be applied in three ways for the control of fleas. It may be:
- Used by itself to provide control of fleas without leaving a pesticide residue on the carpet.
- Tank mixed with an insect growth regulator, such as Surge containing Nylar IGR, to provide the long-lasting effect of an IGR.
- Tank mixed with residual insecticides, such as Conquer Residual Insecticide Concentrate, to obtain a faster kill and broader control.
